Beloved let us love one another; for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God 1 John 4:7\n \n Sunrise: Wiona Thompson Young was born January 15, 1948 in Airey, MD, the daughter of the late Agnes (Deannie) Thompson and Nathaniel Thomas.\n \n Sunset: Suddenly she departed this life June 17, 2010 at the Belvedere Green Senior Housing in Baltimore, Maryland\n \n Family: Wiona was united in holy matrimony in 1974 to the love of her life, the late Carroll Donnell Young who affectionately called her (Girl Baby)\n \n Education: Wiona received her education in Airey, MD, Pine Street and St. Clair Elementary School. She is a graduate of Mace's Lane High School Class of 1966 in Cambridge, MD.\n \n Work Experience: Wiona's first job was with Ramond Steel Co. where she was the first Fork Lift Operator of that time period. She was also employed with Lockheed Martin, Signode, Wave & Armstrong and retired from Collins & Akiman after thirty years of service.\n \n Stewardship: Wiona was love and appreciated by many, especially her Eastern Star Chapter members. She belonged to the Hiram Grand Lodge Affiliation Jurisdiction of Baltimore, Maryland, Ruth Chapter #6 organized Nov. 4, 1927 of Baltimore, Maryland. Her late husband Carroll D. Young, was a member of Prince Hall Lodge in Baltimore, Maryland.\n \n Departure: She leaves to cherish her memory her care givers her brother and sister in-law, Cornell and Rubye Young of Baltimore, MD; stepmother, Esther Thomas of Thompsontown, MD; five sisters, Gloria Camper (Sylvester) of Hurlock, MD, Ernestine Elliott (Lewis) of Arlington, VA, Jacqueline Randolph (George) of Baltimore, MD, Cynthelia Sephas (Alvin) of New Brunswick, New Jersey; four brothers, Lycurtis Farrare (Elaine), Nathan Thomas, Lorenzo Thomas (Sherri), Jonathan Thomas, all of Thompsontown, MD, Ronald Johnson of Cambridge, MD; brother in-law, Warren Young (Carolyn) of Baltimore, MD; three sisters in-law, Glenda Pinder (Edward), Gwendiville Young and Wanda Ellington all of Baltimore, MD; five uncles, Nathan Thompson (Mary), Wallace Thompson (Mary) and Norville (Bert) Thompson (Norma Lee) all of Cambridge, MD and Hubert Thomas of Baltimore, MD and a host of relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 1pm at Henry Funeral Home, PA 510 Washington St Cambridge, MD. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Salem, MD.
