William Altorous Saunders, 55 of Cambridge, died Fri., Aug. 2nd at his home. He was born December 8, 1957 in Cambridge, Maryland, son of Joseph and Octavene Saunders. William was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County and was a 1975 graduate of Cambridge High School. He was always proud of the fact that he was an honor roll student throughout high school.\n \n William was formerly employed with the Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Plant, a Security Guard with Coldwater and currently was employed as a Supervisor with J.M. Clayton Seafood.\n \n His favorite sports were Basketball (LA Lakers) and Football (Oakland Raiders) and his hobbies were watching Westerns and being a DJ. William often shared the word of God with his family and friends. He was also known for helping others.\n \n On March 21, 1983 he met and married the former Teresa Blake.\n \n He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cornelia and William Arthur Saunders Sr., maternal grandparents, Irene Fletcher West and Benjamin Harris Sr., uncles, Benjamin Harris Jr. and James Edward Saunders Sr., aunts, Blanche Ennals, Mae Thomas, Ethel Creekmore and Bertha King.\n \n Survivors include his wife, Teresa Saunders; four sons, Jawan Perry, Tavon Rowley, William A. Saunders III and Randolph E. Blake; parents, Joseph and Octavene Saunders; siblings, Elvis Joseph Harris, Elizabeth Irene Saunders, Cornia Saunders Baltimore (Alan), Joseph Lee Saunders Jr., Benjamin Edward Saunders Sr. (Michelle) and Jeffrey Bradford Saunders; nine grandchildren; aunts and uncles, Lorraine Brown, Evelyn Allen, Darlene Waters and Debbie Wooden; in-laws, Edward Lamont Blake, Lamont Montgomery, Duran Allen, Floretta Allen, Gwendolyn Montgomery, Debbie Blake and Pamela Beasley (Willie); and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, the late Leona Travers and Willie Beasley and other friends.\n \n Services will be Sat., Aug. 10th 1 pm at Waugh Chapel UM Church 425 High St Cambridge with a viewing Fri., evening 7-9pm at Henry Funeral Home PA and one hour prior to service. Interment in Bethel Cemetery.
