William "Billy" Rasin was born on April 25, 1945, to the late Amelia Benson and James Wesley Benson, Sr.. He quietly departed this life at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 30, 2012 to rest in the arms of Jesus, after a lengthy illness.\n \n Billy attended Robert Russa Moton High School in Easton, Maryland. He was employed at Easton News & Variety and until his health began to fail, worked at the Star Democrat for 19 years. He was a kind and giving person, and enjoyed a great sense of humor. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. As we all know, no matter what type of situation or day you were having, Billy could always put a smile on your face. He enjoyed watching sports, and his favorite teams were the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, New York Mets and the New York Knicks. No matter how much pain he may have been in, he never let it bring him down or stop him from praising and thanking the Lord.\n \n William "Billy" Rasin was united in marriage to Geraldine Collins on September 25, 1999. Billy joined Asbury United Methodist Church under Rev. William Ross. He was a faithful and dedicated member, he belonged to the Usher Board and he was responsible for taking the videos for the church. He leaves to mourn a devoted and loving wife of 13 years, Geraldine; 9 children, Desiree Taylor(New York), William Taylor(Easton, MD), Jockeen Taylor(New York), Tracey Taylor( Tylean)(Easton, MD), Trevin Taylor(Easton, MD), Michael D. Collins(Teresa)(St. Michael's, MD), Antonio Collins(Danielle)(Chester, MD), Armond Collins(Thonethia)(Easton, MD), Shania Gregory(Terrez)(Easton, MD); 22 grand children; 2 great grand children; 2 sisters, Claudine Blake and Nettie Perkins both of Easton, MD; 3 brothers, James Rasin(Phyllis)and Hermione Rasin both of Easton, MD and George Rasin(Cambridge, MD); 1 cousin Walter Rasin(Doretha) of Oxford, MD; 5 Sisters-in-law, Evelyn Collins, Loretta Collins, and Doris Copper(Joseph) all of Easton , MD, Ellen Bullock(Delaware), Ernestine Wright(Bishop James Odell); 1 aunt, Alice Kelson of Baltimore, MD; 2 close friens, Eric Gibson and Gary Slaughter both of Easton, MD and a host of other family members and friends.\n \n He was preceded in death by 1 grand children, Heaven Collins; 3 sisters, Leatrice Fletcher, Velveeta and Alice Rasin; and 2 brothers, Alfredo and Julius Rasin.\n \n Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m, Saturday, April 7, 2012 with a viewing two hours prior at Asbury United Methodist Church, 18 S.Higgins Street, Easton, MD.Interment in Richard's Memorial Park Bay St Easton, MD.
