Wendy Tubman Wilkins, 62, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Born May 17, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Geraldine Tubman of Cordtown, MD. Wendy was a 1969 graduate of Maces Lane High School where she served as Vice President of the Senior Class and graduated in the top 5% of the class. She also attended University of Maryland Eastern Shore for a number of years, where she made longtime friends. She was employed with the former Western Publishing Company in Cambridge, MD and also did some substitute teaching in the local school system. Wendy was a unique one of a kind person and loved all aspects of life. Her memory can never be forgotten by those who knew and loved her. In addition to her mother, Geraldine Tubman she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Wilkins. Wendy leaves to cherish her memory, her brother Ernest Tubman (Cambridge, MD), cousins, Ardenia and Arsenia Tubman (New York), her Cordtown family (especially The Heights and Philadelphia, PA families, lifelong friends, Carolyn Stanley Camper, Elaine Smith Cephas, Gloria Sampson Day, Ruth Major Molock, her Hubbard Street friends, The 1969 Class of Maces Lane High School and numerous other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 19th 11am at Henry Funeral Home PA 510 Washington St Cambridge. The Rev. William Ross, class mate, will give words of encouragement.
