A Celebration of the Life\n \n\n\n\n\n\n Welton Howard\n \n\n\n\n\n\n Early morning on August 22, 2014, Welton Howard went to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Betty Howard of Ridgley, Maryland.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n Welton was born December 26, 1935 to the late Ella Jackson and Vernell Howard of Hopewell, VA, where he grew up.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n He moved to Baltimore, MD., where he made his home. He worked for the Drivers Local Union #557 for 35 years as a tractor trailer driver.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n In 1963 he met Betty Lee Howard (The Love of his Life). They were married November 25, 1965. From this union, there were no biological children, but there were always nieces and nephews.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n They attended Rose of Sharon Baptist Church where the pastor was Rev. Virginia Wise.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n When he retired he moved to the Eastern Shore. He worked part-time for Lloyd Scott and for the Limousine Service. He got so many clients he started his own business, taking people to the airports.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n He joined Union Baptist church and was a faithful member until his health failed. He looked forward to the deacons coming to his house to serve communion every first Sunday.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n He was preceded in death by his three sisters; Ella Barker, Vergie Freeman and Nell Jackson.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n He leaves to mourn his memory his wife Betty, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.\n \n\n\n\n\n TO GOD BE THE GLORY\n \n\n\n\n Interment is private.
