Viola Diane Thomas, 65, of Cambridge passed away peacefully at University of Maryland Shore Health @ Dorchester on Thursday, October 8, 2015 surrounded by her family.\n \n\n She was born April 19, 1950 in Rupert, Georgia to the late Virginia Searcy and the late Joe B Thomas. Diane attended school in Butler, Georgia before moving to Cambridge in 1965. In Cambridge, she attended Maces Lane High School. Diane worked at Streeter’s Lounge as a bartender. She later drove cab for Streeter until her health begin to fail.\n \n\n Diane leaves to cherish fond memories 2 sisters: Ola Mae Todd and Mary Ann White both of Cambridge; 2 brothers: Adolph Lofton (Sheridan) of Glen Burnie and Johnny (Ava) Smith of Bradeton, Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews (whom she loved as her own children), cousins, other relative and friends. She also leaves a very close friend, Carolyn Wongus of Cambridge an a godson, Sherrod Patterson.\n \n\n In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother James Lofton and her sister, Martha Stafford.
