Viola Gertude Pinkett, 101 of Cambridge, departed this life on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Mallard Bay Care Center.\n \n Born October 15, 1908, daughter of the late Edward Pinkett and Mary Jackson Ennals. She was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County. Viola was employed as a Housekeeper for various families and a seasonal worker within local canneries within Dorchester County and as a Seamstress.\n \n She was married to the late Goodsill B. Pinkett who preceded her in death in 1999.\n \n Viola was a member of Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She served as a Communion Steward, Usher and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was very supportive of all the ministries within the church until her health failed.\n \n Her hobbies were sewing, gardening, knitting, crocheting, cooking, shopping and spending time with her family.\n \n In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Chester and Ruby H. Gibson, a brother, Wilbur Camper, son in-law, Rev. Roland W. Dennis and an uncle, Rev. Edward Jackson.\n \n Her memory will be cherished by her daughters, Virginia H. Pinkett and Loistine P. Dennis (both of Cambridge, MD); grandson, Mark A. Dennis (Rockville, Md); nieces, Goldie Chester Terry (Steve), Alexandria, VA, Gladys Chester Friedberg (Felix), Silver Spring, MD and Floleeshur Gibson Sawyer (Roger), Halifax, NC; nephew, Andre Gibson (Loretta), Fontana, CA and a host grand nieces, nephews and cousins.\n \n Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 12 noon at Waugh Chapel UM Church 425 High St Cambridge with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment in Bucktown Cemetery.
