Vincent Dixon, Sr. Obituary (1945 - 2017)

Vincent Henry Dixon Sr., age 71, passed away on Monday October 30, 2017 at Deer’s Head Hospital Center in Salisbury MD. Vincent was born on November 15, 1945 to Helen Dixon and John Dixon Sr. Vincent grew up in Dorchester County MD and attended Maces Lane High School. As a child he learned to work on cars which later in life contributed to his love and appreciation for classic vintage hot rides. When Vincent was 20 years old, he joined the military and served his Country honorably. Vincent was a Vietnam Veteran, a man of strength, and of integrity. After returning from the army, Vincent worked for SKS Auto Park and was very knowledgeable about anything dealing with cars. Soon after, Vincent opened a game room. “The game room” was a place where family, friends, and many community members came to play pool, hang out, and have a good time. Vincent also opened Vince’s Auto Wash and Detail. Like many other veterans, Vincent would consistently prove himself to be very reliable, independent, and hardworking, and he possessed superb problem solving and creativity skills. His success in business can be directly attributed to his work ethic, his natural mechanical ability, and the discipline that he learned in the military. His attention to detail was legendary. Outside of work and business, Vincent was very close with his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed listening to old school music, and always enjoyed a good piece of “black candy” (Chocolate). Vincent is survived by his children: Joseph Spicer (Marquetha) of Baltimore; Theodore Driggins (Ella) of Federalsburg; Timothy Dixon (Mary) of Baltimore; Vincent Dixon Jr. (Wanda) of Federalsburg; Vincenta Parker (Terrance) of Cambridge; Vince Dixon (Tanya) of Fort Washington MD; sisters: Mary Wilson of Plainfield, New Jersey; Eunice Felder of Baltimore and Corrine Molock of Cambridge; brothers: James Dixon Sr., Lee Dixon Sr., David Holland, and Kermit Dixon all of Cambridge, and Kent Dixon (Tina) of Clinton, MD; 10 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Vincent was preceded in by his parents Helen and John Dixon Sr.; brother John Dixon Jr.; and his wife Mae Dixon.
