Tommie McRoy Kane, 67 of Cambridge departed this life on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at his residence. He was born January 20, 1950 in Cambridge to the late Nathaniel and Gertrude Stanley Kane.\n \n\n Tommie attended the public schools of Dorchester County. He was employed for many years with Caldwell Castings in Cambridge, and Allen Food in Hurlock until his health began to fail. He loved football. His favorite team was the Washington Redskins.\n \n\n He is survived by his daughters: Shirlene Travers of Cambridge, and Chante’ Travers Holland (Eric) of Waldorf; 2 brothers: Carlos Kane (Donna), and Carlton Kane both of Cambridge; 2 nieces: Samantha Kane Battle of Rocky Mountain, North Carolina, and Twana Cropper Green (Terrence) of Cambridge; 4 nephews: Larry Kane of Cumberland, Patrick Kane of Cambridge, and Dontrell Holiday and Travis Kane both of Federalsburg; 3 aunts: Rachel Miller, Mardela Opher, and Clara Brisco all of Cambridge; 1 uncles: Harold Stanley (Elsie) of Church Creek; 1 great aunt: Bertha Mack of Cambridge; and a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends.\n \n\n Tommie was preceded in death by his sister Christinia Kane Jones, and 2 brothers: Nathniel “Buster”, and Robert Kane.
