Thomas Foster

Thomas L. Foster, son of the late Eleazer and Ida Mae Payton Foster, departed this life on Sun., Oct. 31, 2010 at his home with his wife Sarah in Cambridge. He was born May 28, 1931 in Dorchester County. Thomas was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County and was a graduate of Maces Lane High School Class of 1948. While in high school, Thomas was employed with Elite Cleaners. He attended Bowie State College majoring in Education. He was a teacher in Dorchester County for 20 years. On July 12, 1985, Thomas married Sarah Woolford. At an early age, Thomas joined Bethel AME Church. Thomas leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 25 years, Sarah Foster; a sister, Ida Macer; stepchildren, Thomas Woolford, Bruce Woolford, Joan Harris and Joyce Berry; two step granddaughters, Jessica Thompson (Tim) and Shante Berry; one brother in-law, Emerson Woolford Sr. (Thelma); two sisters in-law, Mary Ellen Woolford and Mary Elizabeth Woolford and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sat., Nov. 6, 2010 2:30pm at Union Chapel AME Church Cordtown with a viewing two hours prior to the services. Interment in Bethel Cemetery.
