In Loving Memory of
Thelbert Maurice Boone Pinkett, Sr.
March 26, 1952 - October 7, 2026
Thelbert Maurice Boone Pinkett, Sr. peacefully departed this life at home on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at the age of 74, with his wife by his side. Thelbert was the beloved son of Thomas and Martha Pinkett.
Thelbert lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, loyalty, and an unwavering love for his family. He was a graduate of North Dorchester High School. Later, he proudly served in the United States Army, during which time he answered the call of duty and received orders to deploy to Vietnam. This was a part of his life that will forever be remembered and honored.
Thelbert was a devoted husband of one wife, and a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He shared 45 years of marriage with his wife Wanda, who has stood by his side through life's many journeys.
Thelbert showed his life by his sacrifices, his dedication, and his determination to make sure the people he loved were cared for. His family was his greatest treasure, and the love he gave will remain in our hearts forever. He always said as a man, his job was to make sure his family was good.
Throughout his working years Thelbert was employed by Burris Logistics, as an over the road truck driver. He worked for 45 years for Burris before retiring. He was affectionately known by his truck driver friends as “Peter Rabbit”. Outside of work, Thelbert enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life special. He loved taking his boat out on the water and fishing, riding his Harley, and taking trips with his wife. Whether he was on the water, enjoying the open road, or making memories with his wife, one of Thelbert’s greatest blessings was his son, Thelbert, Jr., along with his grandkids. He also had a special niece, Lawanda Polk, that always showed up helping with this & that.
Thellbert was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Martha Pinkett; along with a wonderful brother, Anthony Pinkett; and brother-in-law Richard, Jr.
Thelbert leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 45 years, Wanda; his loving son, Thelbert, Jr. (April) whom he taught everything there was to teach a son; beloved grandsons Keshowjn, DayBron, and DayShowjn Pinkett; 3 bonus granddaughters, Kanaya, Kaliyah, and Kaori all of whom held a special place in his family legacy; siblings: Muhammad (Charlotte), Tonya, Joyce, Marlow (Paula), Teresa (Craig), Lorrianne (Stevie), and Blanche; brother-in-laws Wilbur, Jimmy (Sandra), Anthony (Sherry), and Nate; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
His greatest legacy was not measured by the miles he traveled as a truck driver, the roads he explored on his Harley, or the years he worked. His greatest legacy was the family he loved, the life he shared with his wife, the memories he created with his grandchildren, and the lasting impression he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. My husband was truly one of a kind and will be forever loved, cherished, and remembered.
Thelbert was a loving brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to all. His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The road may have ended for my beloved “Peter Rabbit”, but the love, the memories, and the legacy he leaves behind will travel on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
