Terry Glen Thomas was born in Elk City, Oklahoma to Earlene Thomas and David R. Harrison.\n \n He attended the public schools of the Elk City Public School System and became a watch-care member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at the age of nine.\n \n Terry moved to New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1971 and graduated from New Brunswick High School in 1973. Enrolling in the Solomon & Solomon Professional Driving School, Terry was employed by A & Z Bus Company and later the Rutgers University Transportation Department.\n \n Terry met and married Barbara Spruels, of Cambridge, Maryland and from this union a daughter, Riena N. Thomas was born.\n \n Terry and Barbara became members of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in New Brunswick, NJ under the leadership of Rev. R.L. Lumzy.\n \n Terry and family moved to Cambridge, Maryland in December of 1998 and later became members of Zion Baptist Church of this city under the leadership of Elder Craig N. Mathies, Sr.\n \n On Thursday, May 28, 2009, Terry answered his calling from God. He fought a good fight, he finished his course, he kept the faith until the end.\n \n Terry is preceded in death by his father, David "DR" Harrison; paternal grandmother, Lillian; maternal grandmother, Gladys; maternal grandfather, Henry Smith; great grandmother, Annie Hill; Uncles, "JR", Paul and Joe Clark; Aunts, Elsie, Edna (Doll), Vernetta (Bootsie); Cousins, Donald (Cuz), Brenda Vincent; nephew, Mark Williams; father and mother in-law, Deacon Russell and Deaconess Victoria Spruels; aunt and uncle in-law, James and Flossie Spruels and god grandpop, Elvis Wilcott.\n \n Terry leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Elder Barbara Jean Thomas; his daughter, Riena N. Thomas Mason; son in-law, Min. Anthony Mason; granddaughter, Arienity LeShaye Mason; mother, Mrs. Earlene A Ward (Oklahoma City, OK); stepmother, Eula Mae Harrison (Elk City, OK); three sisters, Vivian Williams (Tampa, Florida); Karen Jefferson and Tangela Miller (both of Oklahoma City, OK); a step sister, Stella Peacock (Burns Flat, OK); four brothers, Samuel Taylor (Maryland), Keith Taylor (Houston, TX) and Demetric Green (Chillicotti, Ohio); two sisters in-law, Gladys Camper (Elenzo), Cambridge and Betty Spruels (Baltimore, MD); a brother in-law, John Morgan, Jr. (Baltimore, MD); a god brother, Lamont Darling (Dover, DE); a god mother, Fannie Williams (Henry), South Carolina; a special cousin and friend Bobby (snake) Morgan, Jr., uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.\n \n Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009 1pm at Zion Baptist Church 600 Cross St Cambridge with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
