Sylvester “Vest” Major passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at his home .He was 72 years old born in Seaford, Delaware to the late Edward Major Sr. and the late Gertrude (Holden – Major) William.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n He attended Jason High School in Georgetown, Delaware. He played different sports, loved playing drums, listen to music and most of all he LOVED going to church. He attended Down to Earth Ministry on Hubbard Street in Cambridge, MD.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n He is survived by two daughters, Melissa (Major) Barnes (Roger), Lavette Major, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren , two brothers Frank (Gloria)Holden and Edward Major, Jr. ,two sisters Arretta Pinkens , Dollene (George) Brown , one sister in law Alfreda Major and host of nieces, nephews ,cousins and friends.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Samuel Lee Spruils and Reginald Major, three, sisters Gladys Johnson , Annette (Major) Taylor, Nancy (Major) Travers. One special friend Joan Rosa Lee Stanley who he willingly helped care for to her end.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 1 pm at St. Johns Holiness Church located at 500 Edgewood Ave, Cambridge, MD. Pastor Boswell will be officiating.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n The family extends their appreciation and gratitude to Henry Funeral Home, Prophet John and the members of the church, Pastor Boswell and Down to Earth Ministry Praise Team for their and support during our bereavement of our love one.
