Shautonya R. Brooks (Tonya) known to most was born to Vastina Brooks and James Copper on September 7, 1972 in Easton, Maryland. She was called to rest suddenly on March 15, 2014.\n \n\n Tonya attended Talbot County Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1990. She was employed with Safeway Stores until her death.\n \n\n She enjoyed her life to the fullest. There was never a dull moment when she was around. If you didn’t see her, she made sure you heard her. Tonya enjoyed cooking, talking on the phone, watching her favorite game shows, sports, spoiling kids and most importantly spending time with her family.\n \n\n In addition to her parents, she leaves to mourn her two children, Tekeisha and Tenijah Jenkins; sister, Shanika Brooks; two nieces, Tyneice Savoy and Ai’Zhane Newton; two nephews, Ja’Shaun Wilson and Semaj Nichols; grandparents, Helen Copper and Cecelia Washington; four aunts, Joyce Copper, Bertina Copper, Venetta (WooWoo) Brooks and Patricia Hawkins; two uncles, Reginald Copper (Brenda) and Bernard Copper (Gloria); a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She also had a special friend whom she called her brother, Dionte Hynson; a little girl whom she called her grand-daughter, Destiny Jenkins.\n \n\n Services will be held on Sat., March 22\n \n nd\n \n 1pm at Union Baptist Church Easton, MD with a viewing one hour prior. Interment Richard’s Memorial Park.\n \n\n Memorial donations can be contributed to a trust fund for Penijah Jenkins at M & T Bank.
