Rose Marie (Brown) Whiting, of Cordova, Maryland, peacefully departed this life and was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Intergrace Bayleigh Chase Senior Living in Easton, Maryland. She was 73 years old.\n \n\n Rose was born in Easton, Maryland on October 25, 1943, daughter of the late Gertrude Flamer Brown and Earl Brown. She attended Talbot County Public Schools and adored her life as a homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother.\n \n\n She did not need much to have plenty, led a simplistic life, and loved being outdoors. She enjoyed attending and hosting card games, trying her luck at scratch-offs, and playing bingo. She took great pleasure in biking around the neighborhood, taking long walks, perfecting her green thumb, watching CNN, and spending quality time with her loved ones. Most important to her was her relationship with God. Her never wavering faith brought her peace, and she enjoyed attending worship at New Zion United Methodist Church, of Cordova, Maryland.\n \n\n In addition to her late parents, Rose was preceded in death by the love of her life, Cornelius Ellsworth Whiting, her brothers, Roger “Binky” Brown, George “Sonny” Brown, William “Bunky” Brown, Robert “Babylee” Brown, and her sister, Helen “Coochie Baby” Brown.\n \n\n Her life will be celebrated and memory will be cherished by her beloved children: Rose Danita Whiting (Cordova, MD), George Cornelius Whiting and his wife, Malinda (Queen Anne, MD), Ted Anthony Whiting (Hurlock, MD), Steven Ellsworth Whiting (Cordova, MD), and Iris Rita Whiting (Easton, MD), along with 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.\n \n\n Rose was a gift to her family and a light in this world. She found good attributes in everyone that she met, and would often say, “We are not the judge, nor the jury.” She fought as beautifully as she lived, and will be sorely missed.
