Rodney Bryant Gibson departed this life on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at the Pines Genesis in Easton, Maryland after a long illness. He was born June 15, 1956 to Gloria Bailey and the late Jerome Cook. Rodney grew up in Royal Oak, Maryland.\n \n Rodney received his education in Talbot County Public Schools, graduating from St. Michaels High School in 1975. Even though he was a diabetic, he excelled in track. He enjoyed all sports and loved fishing.\n \n Rodney will be dearly missed by his mother Gloria Bailey (Unionville, MD.), grandmother Myrtle Cook (Preston,MD.), two daughters, Gloria Palmer( Trappe, MD) and Michelle Gibson(Trappe, ,MD), a brother, Gregory Gibson (Unionville, MD); a sister, Cheryl Acree, (Easton, MD); two uncles, Melvin Cook (Wilmington, DE) and James Gibson (Royal Oak, MD); two aunts, Argiletta Batson (Preston ,MD) and Rosalee Batson, (Seaford, DE); three grandchildren, Elijah and Serenity Palmer (Trappe, MD) and Daijah Roberts (Trappe, MD.); one nephew, Gregory D. Gibson (Easton, MD);,one niece, (Taneesha Skinner (Easton, MD); a stepdaughter, Janika Powell (Trappe, MD.); two step grandchildren, Shawn & Destiny Batson (Trappe, MD.); one great- niece Mikayla Gibson (Easton, MD.); one great- nephew, Leroy Flournoy, IV (Easton, MD) and a host of cousin, friends and family.\n \n Rodney was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Trinity R. Palmer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2008, 1pm at St. Luke United Methodist Church Poplar Lane Bellevue, MD with a viewing two hours prior to the services. Interment Royal Oak Cemetery.
