Robert Cornish

Robert “Larrell” Cornish, 61 of Cambridge died on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center surrounded by family. He was born in Cambridge, Maryland on March 4, 1960, the son of the late Loretta Cornish and Purnell McCready.

Larrell received his education in the Dorchester County Public School System, graduating at Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 1978. He worked at Cambridge Scientific and Icelantic “Coldwater” Seafood.

Larrell was affiliated with Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was a faithful Kansas City Chiefs fan as well as North Carolina Tar Heels, Phoenix Suns and Pittsburgh Pirates fanatic. His interest were traveling, billiards, spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed and participated in slow pitch, industrial basketball, “Just Us” bowling league and volleyball.

Larrell is survived by his fiancé: Lavonne “Bonnie” Johnson of Cambridge, her children Deont”e Johnson, Shavont’e Johnson and (Step-daughter) Kiara Pinder, her grandchildren De’Zir, Kaizer, Kori, Reiyn and Trenton, mother in law: Nicie Ansari; 3 sisters, Sharon Cornish of Raleigh, NC, Carolyn Cornish and Terri Cornish(Ricky) both of Cambridge, MD, one uncle, Leroy Cornish of Cambridge, MD, 2 God children: Laqanda Yuman of Cambridge, MD and Jeron Chester of Charlotte, NC; 5 special friends: Jimmy Dixon, Larry Henneghen, Charles Fletcher, Damonta Sampson and Marzelle Autrey, Jr., and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents,  he was preceded in death by one brother: Billy Cornish, two aunts: Lois Jean Christian AND Valerie Cornish, one uncle: Corporal James Cornish and a special cousin Gary Cornish.
