Raymond Darnell Yates departed peacefully in his sleep on October 20, 2023 after a lengthy illness. He was born September 15, 1951 in Cambridge Maryland to the late Oneida(Yates) Williams and the late Raymond Norman.\n\nMy beloved enjoyed working on cars, riding his motorcycle, playing spades, cooking on the grill and always visiting family. He was a natural host to many family functions, enjoying life to the fullest. \n\nRaymond was the oldest member of the “Esquire Motorcycle and Van Club” as of 2023. \n\nHis deepest love for the road was driving his tractor trailer trucks. The “Road Doctor” was his name. Raymond retired after 30 plus years driving the Big Rigs, taking his last trip at 70 years old. Proud and grateful that son Zuri and nephew Telorian, cousin Philip chose to drive the rigs after him. I “left my mark” as he would proudly express: Onto the next generation”.\n\nRaymond Darnell leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Cynthia Yates of 29 years married, 33 years total. His loving children: Raymond Jr.(Lillian), Zuri Howard, Raequandia and Xiavein(Gennail), and daughter-in-law Meghan Howard. Grandchildren, Kemonie, Raymond 3rd, Zuri-Latay, Kamari, Marcella, Todd, Zaylin, Emma Lee, Zelena, and Jabari Kyngston. Two sisters, Pamela Oguagha and Jacqueline Roberts; sisters-in-law Kimberly Farrington and Linette Frazier. A brother-in-law, Willis Williams (Duces). Many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nephews and great nieces. Two godsons, Jay Warner, and Micheal Burnside (Lil’ Big Mike), and many friends.\n\nHe goes on to have a “Heavenly Reunion” with his late sisters, Tasha and Tanya; and mother Oneida.
