Raymond Winfield Chester, 68, departed this life on Friday May 7, 2010 at Dorchester General Hospital.\n \n He was born April 13, 1942 in Meekins Neck son of the late Leon and Irene Chester Sr. Raymond was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County.\n \n Affectionately called Gold Tooth, Raymond was employed with Spicer Lumber Co. until their closing. He also enjoyed working on the water, crabbing and fishing with various friends on Hoopers Island. His hobbies were watching Western movies on television and listening to gospel music.\n \n He leaves to mourn a daughter, Elaine Travers; a son, Keith Camper; two stepchildren, Patricia Lee (Cambridge, MD) and Leon Camper (Baltimore, MD); four brothers, Roosevelt (Odessa) and Jackie Chester (both of Cambridge, MD), Leroy (Loistein) Chester (Golden Hill, Md) and Joseph (Deanna) Chester (Hurlock, MD); two sisters, Annie (Leon) Askins and Jo Ann (Darren) McCready (both of Cambridge, MD); one aunt, Maude (Alfred) Banks (Cambridge, MD) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Raymond held dear to his heart friends of Hoopers Island and Cambridge.\n \n In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Chester, four brothers, Leon, Ben, Joseph and Johnny Chester, grandparents, Peter Chester, Annie Travers, Hansel and Mary Chester and one uncle, Garfield Meekins.\n \n Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 11am at Henry Funeral Home, PA 510 Washington St Cambridge with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment in Meekins Neck Cemetery.
