Ray Henry Pete, Sr., 61 of St. Michaels, MD, departed this life on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Talbot Hospice House in Easton, MD.\n \n He was born December 19, 1946 in Brooker, Florida, son of Alberta Williams Pete and the late James Louis Pete. Mr. Pete was employed with the Miles River Yacht Club.\n \n Mr. Pete received his Christian experience at an early age at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Florida.\n \n He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted wife, Drucilla Pete (St. Michaels, MD); four sons, Ray Henry Pete, Jr. (Lowell, FL), Kevin Pete (Tasha), Occala, FL, David Lamont Farmer (St. Michaels, MD) and Delshawn Planter (Melinda), Occala, FL; three daughters, Quincy McCoy (Craig), Anthony, FL, RaeKeisha Pete and Manicka Pete (both of St. Michaels, MD); five brothers, Rev. Charles W. Pete (Dorothy), Reddick, FL, Willie James Pete (Mildred), Occala, FL, Ernest Pete (Janet), Gainesville, FL, Edward and Samuel Pete (Occala, FL); four sisters, Georgia Gousby, Linda Pete and Wanda Edward (James), all of Occala, FL, Geneva Thomas and Lelia Thomas (Eclinton) and Min. Charlotte Lawrence (all of Reddick, FL ); eight aunts, Cora Lawton (Jacksonville, FL), Lucille Kelly (Lake City, FL), Julia Griffin (Stark, FL), Annie Mae Woody (Mt. Vernon, NY), Mildred Boynton (Occala, FL), Lula Bethea (Occala, FL), Rose Williams and Margaret Grant, (both of Occala, FL); 16 grandchildren; sister in-law, Rhoda Farmer (Mark); brother in-law, Robert White (Vivian) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 1pm at Union United Methodist Church Railroad Ave & Fremont St. St. Michaels, MD with a viewing one hour prior to service. Interment Charles Thomas Memorial Cemetery.
