Ralph David Nixon was born January 27, 1949 in Easton, Maryland son of Emma Nixon. He died suddenly on Monday, December 31, 2007.\n \n "David" as he was known to many, was very well loved by all he met. He was always willing to help whenever, wherever or for whomever he could. He was educated in the Talbot County Public School System. At the time of his death he was employed by the Cooperative Oxford Lab. During his life he had held numerous jobs. David was a life member of the Oxford Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Samuel T. Hemsley Elks Lodge #974 of Easton, Maryland.\n \n David is preceded in death by his father, Johns McKinley; maternal grandparents, Julia and Gilbert Nixon; aunts, Bessie Jackson, Gustina Tilghman, Mae Banks, Beatrice Taylor, Eary Etta Stanton, Gladys Hollis and Julia Smith; Uncles, Willard Nixon, Nehemiah Nixon and Gilbert Nixon.\n \n He leaves to cherish memories, his mother Emma L. Nixon (Oxford Maryland); Two Daughters Toni and Melissa Young (both of Pleasantville, NJ); a sister Christine Bailey (Easton, Maryland); a brother Norris Smith (Pheonix City, AL); two nieces; two nephews; a great- niece; three great-nephews; two Aunts, Ellen Ryans (Denton, Maryland), and Mamie Ricks (Trappe, Maryland); two Uncles Charles Wesley Nixon (Easton, Maryland) and Roland Nixon (Deborah) (Trappe, Maryland) and a special friend Gloria Young (Plesantvile, NJ) numerous cousins and friends. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, 1pm at St. Mark's UM Church Peachblossom Rd Easton, MD with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow in Paradise Cemetery Trappe.
