Phillip Fletcher 74 of Cambridge, Md departed this life with his family at his beside on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Salisbury, MD. He was born May 15, 1935 in Cambridge, Maryland, he was the 18th of 22 children born to the late Dennis and Francis Fletcher Phillip joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church during his youth. His favorite song was "I Am Sending Up My Timber" and "It's My Time,". He particularly loved quartet singing. He was educated in the Dorchester County Public Schools and was a joy to have around. He worked for the Kerr-McGee Corporation for approximately 27 years. Cherishing the memories of special and wonderful times are his wife, Gladys Fletcher; children, Nathaniel Fletcher, Louise Fletcher McCoy, Don Fletcher (Regina), Edwin Kane (Angie), Lynell Lillington (Kervin), Phillip Fletcher, Eric Kane (LaTonya), Phyllis Rodriguez (Benito); 21 grandchildren, Antonio McCoy, Sr., Tyneka McCoy Spicer, Price McCoy Jr., Lamar McCoy, Shyra Fletcher, Nakita Fletcher Smith, LaRonda McCready, Lewis Palmer, Keyshawn Johnson, Shekeria Fletcher, Mykeria Fletcher, Dajuane McGee; Malika Fletcher, Eric Kane Jr., Eche' Kane, Kaneka Rodriguez, Benito Rodriguez Jr., DaVonte Rodriquez, Edwin Kane Jr, Kazyer Kane and Vakeyla Kane; 27 great grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren; 42 nieces and nephews, 100 great nieces and nephews; three sisters, Lillie Mae Fletcher Shalto, Gloria Fletcher Holland and Denise Fletcher; one brother, Gilbert Fletcher; and a host of cousins and friends.\n \n Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 1pm at St. John Holiness Church Edgewood Ave Cambridge, MD with a viewing Friday evening 7-8pm at Henry Funeral Home, PA 510 Washington St Cambridge, MD.
