Oliver Henry Bailey of Trappe died Thursday, November 20, 2008, at the Pine-Genesis Healthcare, Easton, Maryland. Born June 16, 1916, in Trappe, he was the son of the late Ross Bailey and Ader Slaughter Bailey. Oliver was educated in the Talbot County Public School System. He married Irene Sarah Mills and they made their home in Trappe and from this union two daughters, Pauline Bailey Banks and Dorothy Bailey Smith and one son, Oliver Thomas Bailey were born. For several years, Oliver worked at the Phillips Packing Company in Cambridge, Maryland. However, most of his life was spent pursuing his life long ambition doing carpenter work. He could build anything that he set his mind to construct even successfully building two houses; one on Barber Road and the other on Old Trappe Road. Oliver was a caring, likeable, friendly individual who was well liked by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.\t He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Russell Bailey; two sisters, Geneva E. Bailey Brummell and Rose Bailey; one nephew, Frederick Bailey; two nieces, Genevieve Brummell and Pethenia Bailey. He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters, Pauline V. Banks of McDaniel, Maryland and Dorothy E. Smith of Cambridge, Maryland; one son, Oliver T. Bailey of Boston, Massachusetts; 12 grandchildren a�" Pamela, April, Reginald, Tina, Jessica, Wendy, Chanell, Cheryl, Andre', Jocelyn, Sheila and Eric; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter Bailey; two nieces, Ethel Ball and Wilhelmina Bailey; three nephews, Mark Bailey, Russell Bailey, Jr., and Keith Bailey; special great-grandson, Jesston Smith; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Handy and Eliza Croom and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 11am Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Henry Funeral Home, PA 510 Washington St Cambridge, Md with a viewing one hour prior. Burial in Paradise Cemetery Trappe, MD.
