Norman E. Jones affectionately known as “Boogie”, departed this life on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. He was 77, born May 31, 1942 in Easton, son of the late Charles Groce and Addie P. Bailey. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Elliott “Peanut” Orville and Gregory “Bronco” Watkins.\n \n\n Boogie attended Talbot County Public Schools, and then relocated to pursue a security guard job in Rhode Island where he resided for 30 years. He was employed with several businesses, which included Allen Foods, JC Penny’s, and Tide Water Inn. He also worked as a handy man and cut grass for family and friends. Boogie enjoyed singing with Asbury UMC Men’s Choir, riding his motorcycle, cooking, playing the drums, spending time with family, and cruising the streets of Easton on his lawn mower.\n \n\n Boogie is survived by three brothers: Marshall Bailey Jr. (Barbara) of Easton, MD, Mark Bailey of Ridgely, MD, and Byron Bailey of Cordova, MD; three sisters: Rebecca Bailey of Cordova, MD, Rosalee Anderson of Baltimore, MD, and Lillian Stewart of Ridgely, MD; Special Friend: Blanche “Tiny” Butler; five children: Markeith Jones, Shantel Jones, Donnell Jones, Ashley Cooper, and Norman Jones, Jr.; step-daughter: Ryshema Freeman; nine grandchildren: Markeith Jones Jr., Skyla Butler, Ri’Mir Butler and Caij Butler, Khire Jones, Masen Jones, Caiden Jones, Mar’kyan Cooper, Markdayon Cooper Jr. and Tavaris Jones; Special Uncle: Robert Bailey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
