Nettie Keene Obituary (1933

Nettie Mae Keene , daughter of the late John and Lola Major, departed this life suddenly on Sunday, September 28, 2014. Nettie was born November 24, 1933 in Cambridge, Maryland. She attended the Dorchester County Public School Systems. As a child and young adult she was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church . Later, she joined Agape Temple of Praise and Ministries lead by Pastor V. Louise Cornish. Her places of employment included Airpax, Todd Seaford, and Rob Roy Sewing Company. After retiring she enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Nettie will be remembered by family and friends for her kind and gentle ways. And her love for fishing, cooking and feeding the Neighbors. She was “loved” by many and would help anyone in need anytime. In addition to her parents and her husband (Floyd Keene), she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Major; three sisters, Marie Cornish, Eva, McCloud and Ella Mae Brown; two brothers, Linwood Major and Rayfield Major; and a granddaughter Shavon Dolberry. She leaves to cherish her loving and pleasant memories, a son, Fred Major, Sr. and a special and loving daughter-law (Anita); seven sisters, Rosalie Clark, Lucille Warrington (John), Estelle Laws, Geraldine Flamer, Eunice Hubbard, Saura Lake (Beverly) and Cynthia Jennings. One brother, John Major, Jr., and an Uncle Rowland Mapp (Arvilla). Five grandchildren, Gray Gordy, Carletta Major, Jermaine Major (Crystal), Brian Conaway, Fred Major, Jr. (Faith). Sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Internment will be in Bethel Cemetery.
