Nannie Ethel Jane Lane, born February 24, 1910, passed peacefully May 23, 2009 at the Talbot Hospice House in Easton, Maryland. She was 99 years old. She was one of sixteen children of the late Martin and Hattie Wilson and the wife of the late Mose Lane. She received a public education in the Talbot County Schools and lived most of her life in the surrounding towns. Her only child Alma V. Wilson, preceded her in death in 2002.\n \n Nannie was employed with the local canning factories and poultry plants. After she retired, she also picked geese during the hunting season.\n \n Nannie was a member of Queen Esther AME Church in Ivytown.\n \n In addition to her parents and daughter, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Joyce Nixon and Wayne Nixon.\n \n Nannie is survived by a sister, Lillian Wilson; three grandsons, Howard E. Young, Jr., Jerome Wilson and Dwight Wilson (Rita); two granddaughters, Ida Young Ositelu and Deborah Young; Theresa Cornish Murray, who she cherished and loved as a great granddaughter; 19 great grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; seven nieces; 9 nephews and a host of cousins and friends.\n \n In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made toward the building fund for Queen Esther AME Church 5972 Manadier Rd. Easton, Md 21601 or The Talbot Hospice Foundation 586 Cynwood Drive Easton, Maryland 21601.\n \n Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 1pm at New Queen Esther AME Church 5972 Manadier Rd Easton, MD with a viewing two hours prior to the services. Interment in the church cemetery.
