Nannie Mae Turner Boulden of Easton, MD departed this life on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Genesis Health Care “The Pines” facility at the age of 88. Nannie or more commonly referred to as “Mae” was born in the Miles River Neck area on July 12, 1927 as the third child to the late Randall Albert Thomas and Nannie Moaney Thomas.\n \n\n Mae was educated in the public school system of Talbot County. She married Nicholas E. Turner, Sr. at an early age and extended the Moaney-Thomas and Turner families trees under the surname “Turner” by three sons, Nicholas Edward Jr., Gilbert Maurice and Paul Randall; two grandsons, Nicholas A. III and Jamie Nichard; three great grand, Nikel Marie, Tre Ann and Coleman James.\n \n\n Mae’s gifts to the world were work and a smile; or should it be said work with a smile. She worked in seafood processing plants between Bellevue, Oxford, St. Michaels and Tilghman Island picking crabs and shucking oysters. She later worked as a domestic for private families where she gained great accolades from the families of Dr. and Mrs. Greene, The Crawford’s and the Vermilye family. Nannie ended her work career as the pastry chef at Harrison’s Chesapeake House on Tilghman Island.\n \n\n In 1987, seven years after the death of her first husband in 1980, Mae remarried to Richard Boulden, Sr. whom himself was a seven year widower. The two of them worked for the Crawford family where they formed a good friendship and bonded into a great marriage for both. Richard departed this life in late 1998.\n \n\n In addition to the aforementioned, Nannie Mae is survived by one daughter in-law, Evenlyn; one granddaughter in-law, Amanda; three sisters, Sarah, Meredith and Marion; six brothers in-law, James (2) George, Wilbert, Dwight and Hilbert; seven sisters in-law, Nancy, Ernestine (2), Katicha, Vendette, Carolyn and Audrey; two step children, Marie and Richard Jr. and a double hosting of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.\n \n\n Having lived a long and joyous life, Mae was preceded in death by most of her family but notable is the loss of her last and younger brother “Phil” celebrated only one week ago.
