Nancy Gertrude (Major) Travers, 58, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Memorial Hospital in Easton. She was born September 24, 1952 in Seaford, Delaware the daughter of the late Edward Major Sr. and the late Gertrude (Holden-Major) Williams. Mrs. Travers was educated in the public school of Dorchester County. She loved being with her children and grandchildren, also she loved fishing. She was employed at the Hampton Inn in Easton until her health failed. She attended the local Cambridge Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She is survived by six children, Denisea (Curtis) Johnson, Victoria (Irvin) Rivers, Perry (Barbara) Major, Willie (Sheree) Jones, Julia (Jamarr) Matthews, Vicente (Keira) Travers; one stepson, Vicent Travers Jr.; 18 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two sisters, Aretta Pinkett and Dollene (George) Brown; four brothers, Frank (Gloria) Holden Sr., Edward (Josie Mae) Major Jr., Reginald (Freda) Major, Sylvester Major and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her, husband, Vincent Travers Sr., one brother, Samuel Lee Spruils, two sisters, Gladys Johnson and Annette Major Taylor. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 12 noon at Henry Funeral Home PA 510 Washington St Cambridge, MD.
