Mona Sharlene Sheppard, 56 of Cambridge, MD, departed this life on Friday, December 24, 2010 at Genesis Eldercare-The Pines in Easton, Md. Mona was born August 31, 1954 in Easton, MD, daughter of Lucille A. Sheppard and the late Edward Sheppard. Mona was educated in the Talbot County Public Schools. During her adults years she received her GED. Her gift of cooking was used at various places of employment such as Caroline County Detention Center, Talbot County Detention Center and Heartfields Assisted Living until her health issues. Mona accepted Christ years ago under the leadership of Elder Granville Brittingham at Mt. Pisgah Holy Church Easton. She loved using the God given gift of singing for the Glory of God. She was a member of Greater Chief Cornerstone Church under the leadership of Bishop Keith Cornish, Cambridge, MD. Mona enjoyed her children dearly and spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies included cooking and singing. Her big smile was always shining. Mona leaves three daughters, Michelle Boulden Hammond (Elvis), Easton, Kimberly Bailey (Johnston, PA), Zhanelle Bailey (Cambridge, MD); two sons, Steven Bailey (Washington, DC) and Tevin Bailey (Cambridge, MD); four grandchildren, Tarish Thompson Jr., Sabre Boulden, Jeremiah Bailey and Gabrielle Bailey; her mother, Lucille A. Sheppard; four sisters, Ann Sheppard Lawson (Godfrey), Thelma Sheppard Miller (Joseph), Lynn Wagner, Bertha Boyce; five brothers, Fentress Sheppard, Eddie Sheppard, George Wilson (Connie), Joseph Green (Wanda) , Bobby Green and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special second mothers, Yvonne Pinkens and Barbara Blake; her favorite Golden Girls, like sisters in the end, Diane Baker Jenkins, Geraldine Woolford, Theandre Stubbs, Diane Turner, Odessa Carter and Portia Ross. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Keith Sheppard, two sisters, Jennifer Sheppard and Sarah Sheppard Johnson, a brother, Donald Friend, three aunts, Eleanor Gibson, Ethel Bull and Bessie Sheppard and one uncle, Webster Sheppard. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2011 12 noon at Easton Church of God 1009 N. Washington St Easton, MD with a viewing two hours prior to the services. Interment in Richards Memorial Park Easton.
