Milton Joseph Cromwell, 91 of Cambridge, Maryland departed this life on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Dorchester after a lengthy illness.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n He was born July 23, 1923 in Cambridge, Maryland. Milton attended the public schools of Dorchester County and graduated from F.D. St Clair High School Class of 1941. In 1943, he was inducted into the United States Army, where he served for years and fourteen day. He was honorably discharged with his highest rank of Tec. 5. Milton received awards such as the Metal for good Conduct, Ribbon for Asiatic Pacific Theatre Services and Ribbon for Phillipines Liberation World War II Victory Ribbon. Milton was a member of the American Legion Post 87 and later in years reinstated his member with American Legion Post 91.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n He was a member of Christ Rock U.M. Church for over 30 years, later attending Smithville UM Church and then transferring his membership to St. Luke UM Church where he remained a member until his death.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n In 1952, he was a bus driver for Baltimore MD Transit Co., employed with Revere Bass Copper Co., taxi cab driver, delivered medicine for Paige Pharmacy (currently Dapo Pharmacy) and Fred’s Laundry Mat (Washington St Cambridge) until his health failed. He also cut grass for many years for family and friends.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n He leaves to cherish his memory 12 children, Anthony Milton Woolford (Barbara), Cambridge, MD, Odessa Todd (Baltimore, MD), Marvel De’Shields (Frank), Cambridge, MD, Victor Eugene Bromwell (Cambridge, MD), , Coretha Jones (Luther), Baltimore, MD, Milton Rudell Todd (Denell), Baltimore, MD, Darlene Todd (Tacoma, WA), Laverne Abdul-Rheem (Lacey, WA), Lindwood Cromwell (Baltimore, MD), Vandora Cromwell (Baltimore, MD), Roderick Cromwell (Kimberly), Baltimore, MD, TaRhonda Cromwell (Baltimore, MD); 41 grandchildren; 75 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; 6 brothers and sisters on fathers side: Thomas Fergus (Anna Mae), Theodore Ferguson (Pearl), Elsie Martin, Shirley Green, John Ferguson (Beverly) and Jacqueline Dotson (Ralph), all of Cambridge, MD; two god-daughters and a host of other relatives and friends.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Milton was preceded in death by his mother, Fanny Cromwell, father, Theodore Thompson and two sons, Rudolph Todd and Alvin Bromwell.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Interment in the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery 1pm Fri., Aug. 22nd.
