Mildred Elizabeth Bailey, age 84, of Church Creek, Maryland departed this life on September 28, 2017 at Signature Mallard Bay. Mildred was born on August 28, 1933 in Church Creek, Maryland, to Ressie Mattie Camper and the late Tenisley Arthur Camper. She attended Church Creek School, Stanley Institute and the Frederick Douglas High School. Mildred worked at Simmons Canning Factory, Phillips Packing Company, Dayton Restaurant, Trappe Frozen Foods, Avon Representative and Dorchester General Hospital where she retired August 2007, after 48 years of services.\n \n\n She was married to the late Charles Wesley Bailey, Sr. from this union are two sons Frederick and Charles Bailey.\n \n\n Mildred was a member of New Revived United Methodist Church. Before the merger of the Smithville Charge she was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Woolford, Maryland (Harrisville). She was an active member of the Christianeer Gospel Choir, Trustee Ministry and served when and where she could\n \n\n Mildred loved being with her family, taking vacations with her mother, sisters and nieces and coming back to tell her DGH friends how much fun she had sitting in the lazy susan (meaning the Juzussi) telling jokes, listening to gospel music and above all collecting antiques which she acquired various pieces over the years.\n \n\n Mildred was preceded in death in by her husband, Charles W. Bailey, Sr., her father Tenisley Arthur Camper, Jr., one brother, Arthur Camper, Jr.\n \n\n Mildred will be deeply missed and leaves to mourn: her two sons, Frederick Bailey (Ann), Charles Bailey, Jr. (Frances); grandchildren, Franchella Pailen-Watkins (Kevin), Chiconya Dixon (Edger), Tamond Purnell (Michelle); four great grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Ressie M. Camper; sisters, Betty A. Camper (Eugene, Sr.), Daphine Camper-Jackson (Robert); brother, Retired Sgt. Major Gary L. Camper (Jean); nieces, Tanya Camper-Greene, Tanisha Robinson, Shanekia Johnson, Amber Camper; nephews, Eugene Camper, Jr. and Gary Camper; special friends and caregiver, Barbara Jones, Bernice Beasley and her lovely Dorchester General Hospital Family and a host of other cousins and friends who will remember Mildred dearly.
