Michael Jamaal Blake better known as “Mike” transitioned on Wednesday, August 16th at his residence in Chester, MD at the age of 37. Michael was born to Monica Blake Pinder and Richard Guy on June 12, 1986 in Easton, MD.\n\nMichael was a child of God. At an early age, he attended church at Allen AME Church in Hillsboro, MD with his father, and at Hurlock United Methodist Church with his mother. \n\nMichael received his education in Talbot County Public Schools and graduated from Easton High School in 2004. Michael received many awards and achievements in high school and was a member of the National Honor Society. Michael was well liked by teachers and classmates. His favorite subject was Math. During the summers in high school he would work with his uncle’s business (Guys Construction). Michael was involved in many activities during his school years such as playing basketball for high school and AAU. After graduation, he attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (AGGIE PRIDE) receiving, with honors, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 2008.\n\nAfter graduating college, Michael started working at a bank and then began working at Crumbs Bake Shop as staff accountant. He held that job for over four years. He started working for the City of Baltimore as an Accounting Systems Analyst I in April 2013. He stayed there for about 9 months and received a better opportunity at Structural Group in Columbia, MD. He began working for Structural Group in January of 2014 and was still working there until his death. Michael also was working part time for the family business, Dean’s Janitorial Services for many years. He would have been working for Structural Group for 10 years this January. Michael built great work relationships with his coworkers during his work history. Even though he did not work anymore at his previous jobs, he would always keep in contact with them. \n\nMichael loved to have fun and was a loving person who made friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed basketball, the Dallas Cowboys, karaoke, traveling and eating at different restaurants. He loved his family and friends and spending time with them. No matter what he had to do, Michael would always show up to support his family and friends. Michael was known to be a social media comedian. He would put funny posts on social media to put a smile on everyone’s face. People would tell his family and friends all the time that they looked for his daily posts especially when they are having a bad day. Michael would always greet you with a big smile, a hug or a hand shake. He was a prime example of what living your best life was. Michael enjoyed life and lived his life to the fullest!! What he accomplished in his 37 years, most people older than him do not.
