Mary Rose Virginia Martin, 87, of St. Michaels died peacefully in her sleep on April 3, 2015 (Good\n \n\n\n Friday\n \n\n\n ).\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Mary was born to the late William Henry and Ella Mae Turner Wilson on January 3, 1928 in Compton Maryland. She was one of six children.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n As a child Mary was confirmed into the Roman Catholic Church in Compton Maryland. She worked in the seafood and restaurant industry. Mary was a great cook and could have opened her own restaurant and specialized in many different cuisines. She was especially known for her homemade flaky hot rolls.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Mary Rose met Wilbert Lee Martin in 1943. Mary and Wilbert had an eight year courtship and married in Holy Matrimony on September 14, 1953.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 62 years, Wilbert Lee Martin; her five children: Mary Lee Martin Bowie, Gwenda Martin (Charles) Bowie, Thomas Martin (Robin) Severn, Wilbert Lee Martin Jr.; daughter in-law Karen Martin Easton Md, William Martin (Neisha) Dover Delaware, one sister in-law Gracie Irene Wilson. Three grandchildren: Ron Martin, Carla Cooper and Shameka Cooper; five great grandchildren: Montre Murray, Taylor Martin, Brandon Freeman, Jasmine Freeman, and Ravin Murray; a devoted friend Annie Rooney Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Mary was preceded in death by John Henry, Louise Price, George Wilson, Ernest Wilson and Agnes Bailey.
