Marvin Glen Stanford was the son of Howard Melvin Stanford and Berlin Rosa Slaughter Stanford. He was born on May 28, 1970 in Easton, MD. Marvin departed this earthly life on December 27, 2015.\n \n\n Marvin was educated in the Public Schools of Talbot County and graduated in 1988 from Easton Senior High School in Easton, MD. He attended Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Maryland and Spring Garden Architecture College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Upon graduating from college Marvin joined the United States Air Force. He served in the Air Force from 1993 – 2007 until he was discharged for medical reasons. When he retired Marvin held the rank of Sergeant. While in the Air Force he served throughout the United States and overseas including the Country of Japan. Marvin tenaciously fought his illness and became deeply emerged in coaching basketball.\n \n\n He previously coached the AAU Teams and the Men and Women’s Air Force teams. Most recently he was an assistant coach for the girls’ varsity team at Bourgade Catholic High School in Phoenix, Arizona. This was Coach Stanford’s 7th year at with the Bourgade Catholic Community.\n \n\n Marvin will be remembered for his infectious smile and his quick wit. Although basketball was his passion – his family and friends were his highest priority\n \n\n Left to cherish his many memories are; his parents Howard and Berlin Stanford of Easton, MD, one brother Warren A. “Tony” Stanford of Tappahannock, Virginia, two sisters Roxanne A. Stanford of Federalsburg, Maryland, and Melvena (Jeff) Gabaldon of San Diego, California. Marvin is also survived by three nieces, six great-nieces, one great-nephew, several aunts and uncles and a host of extended family and friends. Marvin will truly be missed by all who knew him.
