Martha Ann Terry Stafford, 62, of Cambridge transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n She was born April 22, 1953 in America, Georgia to the late Archie B Terry and Verna Mae Lofton. Martha graduated from Maces Lane High School in 1971. She later earned her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. She continued her religious studies earning a certificate in Pastoral Aide. Martha worked for numerous employers including Lane Company, Bumble Bee, Black & Decker, Cosby Ave Laundromat, Elm Street Day Care, Pitter Pat Day Care, Delmarva Community Services, Shore up Head Start, and the Dorchester County Board of Education.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n At an early age, Martha was saved and joined Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. William Hitches, Sr. She later attended Agape Temple of Praise & Ministry under the leadership of Pastor V. Louise Cornish. Martha was more than a door keeper in the House of the Lord. She was the church school Superintendent, president of the Pastor’s Aide, the pastor’s Armor Bearer, sang with the mass choir and the Christian Faith Community Choir. Martha loved her church family and teaching children. Mostly, she loved the Lord. Up to the time of her death, Martha Stafford had no problems praising the God of her salvation.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n Martha leaves to cherish fond memories two children: Anya (Brian) King of Cambridge, and LaTyron Sr. (Angelia) Stones of Greenwood, Delaware; nine grandchildren: Trymaine Butler, Mykeria Jenkins, Tyshea Stones, James Kane, Jr., Jamon Kane, LaTyron Stones, Jr., Rasheed Stones, Ciatrick Stones, and TyShayla Stones; three great grandchildren: Nevaeh Walker, Jayden Taylor, and Nyla Walker; three sisters: Ola Mae (Robert) Todd, Mary Ann White, and Diane Thomas all of Cambridge; two brothers: Johnny Lee Secary of Florida, and Adolph Lofton of Baltimore. She also leaves four step children: Regina Thompson, Ivy (Wanda) Thompson, Charles Thompson, and Tracy (Ricky) Lake; one goddaughter, four godsons, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n Interment will take place in Bethel Cemetery in Cambridge.
