Mabel Brooks Nedab, the beloved daughter of the late Winfield and Ella Pinder Brooks, was born August 11, 1911 at Bucktown, Maryland. She departed this life on January 14, 2011. She would have been 100 this year. Most of her life was spent in Dorchester County. She was devoted to her family and friends and was a resident of Chesapeake Woods Nursing Facility upon her death. Mabel attended the public schools in Dorchester County. Although she had no children of her own, she raised her sister's children Sylvia and Leroy Brooks, Jr. for most of their adolescence life. Mable was united in holy wedlock to Charles L. Nedab, of Melfa, Virginia, November 16, 1952. Charles preceded her in death November 9, 1970. Mabel was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. She was a member of the Trustee Aide and Emergency Board of the Church. Mabel also kept you smiling and laughing, according to her caregivers and families who came to visit her. She is remembered as a warm personality and will be missed. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, four brothers and one foster sister. She leaves to mourn two nieces, a nephew and a host of great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 1pm at Henry Funeral Home, PA 510 Washington St Cambridge, MD with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
