On, August 25, 2008 God gently called home our dearly beloved mother and friend, Mrs. Lula Mae Dennis Woolford. Mrs. Woolford is the wife of the late Thomas James Woolford and the daughter of the late John and Maggie Dennis. She was born on August 31, 1927 and reared in Reids Grove, Maryland.\n \n Mrs. Lula was a kind and loving person, always considering the comfort and happiness of her children, family and especially her grandchildren. She loved being in the company of her children, family and friends, talking and sharing memories of the past and making new ones for the future. She shared her wisdom and knowledge with anyone that she met and especially to those who found her to be their confidant and friend.\n \n Her formal education was received in the public school system of Dorchester County. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior while attending her family church, Zoar United Methodist Church in Reids Grove, Maryland, as a young girl.\n \n Mrs. Woolford's early career in life was a professional seamstress in the garment factories in Cambridge, Easton, Salisbury, Oxford and Snow Hill, Maryland. In her later years, she shared and worked as a businesswoman with her late husband, Thomas.\n \n She leaves beautiful, loving memories and to morn, her children, Lawrence Dennis, Alonza Dennis Sr., Eric Woolford and Tomasene Woolford all of Cambridge and the Rev. Lena Marie Dennis of Baltimore, Maryland; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emily Jackson and Nona Dockins; four sister- in-laws, Gerldine Dennis, Bertha Pinder, Gloria Woolford and Rosetta Montgomery; three brother a�"in-laws, Lewis Woolford, Wilbur Woolford and Fredrick Woolford; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, her daughter, Ella Louise Dennis Killette and brothers, Clarence, James, Winfield and Elmer Dennis, preceded her in death.\n \n Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2008 12 noon at Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church 425 High St Cambridge, MD with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment will be Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008 11am at the Eastern Shore Veteran's Cemetery Hurlock, MD.
