Sunrise: Louis G Jones was born November 14, 1949 in Cambridge MD, the son of the late Louis Jones and Margaret Harman (Maggie).\n\nSunset: Louis departed this life January 31, 2024 in Towson, MD.\n\nEducation: Louis was an avid believer in education. Louis received his early education at Mace’s Lane High School, graduating in the class of 1967 and continued his love of learning with a bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 1971. Louis utilized his many educational accomplishments in his career that he received several accolades before his retirement. Louis was also in the Army National Guard for 14 years.\n\nWork Experience: Louis was an Educator in Baltimore City Schools for 30 years and served as the Dean of Students at the Charter School IDEAL ACADEMY in Washington, DC. He also had interest in Real Estate for a while.\n\nStewardship: “Buddy” or “Pops” as some may call him played center field in school and Donald would say “Man he can run!”. He loved to plan short vacations for the family. Buddy was kind and had a passion to help others. He was an avid card wiz, and loved watching sports. His favorite team was the RAVENS, but his all-time favorite hobby was watching old westerns. His favorite food was fried chicken (wings), fried fish and coconut cake, along with an ICE-COLD drink.\n\nDeparture: He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Joyce, three sons Tracy Scott Jones (Tangi) Baltimore, MD, Malik Bell (Carrie) South Carolina, and Sean Garland Baltimore MD. One brother Purnell Jones (Martha) Cambridge, MD. Five grandkids, two great-grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.\n\nLouis is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Maggie Jones, his sister Janet Baugh and brother Donald Jones.
