Lorie Ann Stones, 47, peacefully departed her life on January 28, 2014 in Cambridge, Maryland. She was born to Joyce Ennels Horsey and the late Willie Walter Stones. Lorie attended the public schools of Dorchester County, Maryland. She graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School in 1984. Upon graduation with honors, she furthered her education at Woodbridge College, Salisbury, Maryland in Business Administration and Chesapeake College at Wye Mills. Lorie worked all her life as a single parent at various jobs; Conagra Poultry in Hurlock, Maryland, Black and Decker in Easton, Maryland, Airpax Electronics,The Hyatt as a switchboard operator, Hardees as a supervisor in Cambridge, Maryland; also in Annapolis, Maryland her job consisted of working in a Post Office as a mail sorter.\n \n She was a member of the Faith Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was baptized and gave her life to the Lord. In her previous years she became ill and never cared about her life, but cared about the lives of others. She was a devoted daughter of Progressive Temple #224. Lorie was well known throughout the community. She touched the lives of many people and she will be remembered for her cheerful greetings to people from her house or the streets. She loved her step-father Edward Horsey. Everywhere he went she would be in the van to ride. Sometimes she even slept in her clothes so he would not leave her. She loved to ride, dance and didn't care what you said to her. The little saying she had was "And What!"\n \n Lorie Ann was a devoted mother, daughter, grandmother and she leaves a loving family to cherish her precious memories. Her only son Broderick O. Dunaway, Jr.(Aja) of Cambridge, Maryland; Joyce Ennels Horsey(Edward) of Cambridge; a special love for grandchildren Broderick O. Dunaway, III, Xavier Dunaway of Ellendale, Delaware and Na'Tale Chester; four sisters, Wanda Miles, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Willene Faye Stones, Pelham, North Carolina; Tyboria Stones, Cambridge, Maryland; five brothers, Walter Stones, Danville, Virginia, LaTryon Stones(Angie), Greenwood, Delaware; Dwayne Stones, Hagerstown, Maryland; Derek and Eric Stones, Georgetown, Delaware; four uncles Junior Stones(Lavenia) of Baltimore, Maryland; Vernon Ennels, Capital Heights, Maryland; Larry Ennels (Stephanie), Owings Mills, Maryland; Rodney Ennels (Robin)Cambridge, Maryland; two aunts Ora Jean Stones, Sterling, Virginia; and Darlene Ennels of Cambridge, Maryland. During Lori's illness, she has several dedicated life-long friends-Chrissy Camper, Vicky Johnson, Sandy Woolford, Bonnie Green, Daphne Dolberry, Melissa Freeman, Carla Young, Tracy Majors, Alice Demby and other; a host of other devoted relatives and friends.\n \n Services will be held on Sat., Feb. 1st 1pm at Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church 425 High St Cambridge with a viewing two hours prior. Interment in Bethel Cemetery.
