Loretta Anita Young was welcomed into God's Heavenly Gates July 31, 2012 while she was surrounded by her family. She was born October 11, 1932 in Cambridge, MD to Hubert R. Young Sr. and the late Ruby Stanley Young. Her early education was received at Aireys and Tripp's Neck Schools; she then went on to F.D. St Clair High School and graduated in 1949. Loretta was a member of Mt. Pleasant U.M. Church where she served on the Usher's Board, United Methodist Women and Treasurer. Recently she attended the Lord Jesus House of Prayer Ministries with her son where Servant G. Andre Kane was her pastor. Loretta started working at 16 in the Phillips Packing Company in the tomato factory. In 1956 she went to Cosmetology School and went on to work as a self-employed Beautician. Loretta had her beauty shop in the rear entrance of her house on Washington St. until her health failed in 2000. Loretta also drove the bus for Dorchester County Public Schools from 1988 until 1997. Loretta leaves to mourn her father, Hubert R. Young Sr.; one son, Philander Young and his wife Lisa; four granddaughters, Arlesha King and her husband Dontre, Keyna Fisher, Ashley and Brittany Young; four great- grandchildren Dontre Jr. and Trejan King, Kaleah and KeNiya Skinner all of Cambridge, MD; one God-daughter, Pandoria King of Silver Spring MD along with her two children considered as her grandchildren, Linton King III and Lindra David, her husband Shawn; their two children Makayla and Marcus of Germantown MD; two aunts, Marguerite Dean of Cambridge, MD and Bert Young of Buffalo NY; a nephew, Tyrone Pinkett of Chester PA and a great niece April Lewis, her husband Joe and son Cory of Cambridge, MD as well as a host of cousins. Loretta was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby S. Young, sister, Constance Ella Young, brother, Hubert R Young Jr. better known as Joe, grandparents Enoch and Mabel Young and James H. and Ella Stanley.\t Services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 1pm at Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church with a viewing two hours prior. Interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Salem, MD.
