Letitia Mothon Obituary (1954

Letitia Arlene Mothon “Doll”, 61 of Grasonville, Maryland transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Compass Regional Hospice Center in Centreville, Maryland. Doll, as she was affectionately called, was born June 29, 1954 in Easton, Maryland, daughter of the late Norman Cook Sr. and Lula Tilghman Cook. She was raised by her aunt and Uncle Henry Ray and Beulah Mae Perry. She graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1972. Letitia worked for several employers including Bay’s Best, Crab Claw in St. Michaels and Chester Wye, until her health failed. She loved spending time with her family of which her grandchildren were the love of her life. When her jobs and health permitted, she attended John Wesley United Methodist Church in Carmichael, MD, where she gave her life to Christ and was baptized. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marion B. Cook and Leon A. Cook. Letitia leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Andre’ Cook and Kaneka Scott (both of Grasonville, MD); five grandchildren, De’Andre Skinner (Easton, MD), Shonessa Wickes (Chestertown, MD), Essence and Zion Cook and Andre’ Cook Jr. (all of Grasonville, MD); two great grandchildren, Darian Skinner (Easton, MD) and Liam Thompson (Chester, MD); seven sisters and two brothers, Cora Tilghman, Helen Holmes, Hilda Tilghman, Rosalie Patterson (all of Easton, MD), Catherine (Cornelius) Johnson (Cambridge, MD), Faridah Muhammad (Richmond, VA), Leola (Ronald) Cornish (Grasonville, MD), Carl Barnett (St. Michaels, MD) and Norman (Linda) L. Cook Jr. (Cambridge, MD); five close friends who were like sisters, Mrs. Debbie Reed, Mrs. Debbie Jackson, Mrs. Linda Brummell, Mrs. Brenda Jackson and Mrs. Irish Stevens; two dear friends, Mr. David Scott and Ms. Jean Unsworth and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends. A memorial service will be held on Sat., Aug. 22, 2015 3pm at Kent Island UM Church 2739 Cox Neck Road Chester, MD. No public viewing. Interment in Bryans Cemetery Grasonville, MD.
