Latoya Carmilla Pinder

Latoya Carmilla Pinder, who was affectionately known as “Toya” and “Baby Girl” went home to be with the Lord at the age of 47 at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton, MD.

Toya was born on September 5, 1976 in Easton, Maryland to Elvis Maurice Sharpe and Cassandra M. Pinder.

After graduating from high school, Toya moved from the Talbot County area to pursue a career and was a dedicated customer service representative at Verizon in Dover for over 10 years, before her health began to decline. Toya moved back to the area in 2019 to be closer to her family and friends. In her spare time, “Baby Girl” loved reading and traveling when she could. Toya was an avid fan of Kobe Bryant and could be found watching the Lakers play wearing her favorite Kobe swag.

Toya was no stranger to God, and had her spiritual roots planted at an early age at Hurlock United Methodist Church. Although her health prevented her from physically going to service, she would watch live stream broadcasts and you would often find her listening to Yolanda Adams or Marvin Sapp on the radio.

Toya was preceded in death by her uncles Felton and Edward Pinder; aunts Bessie and Jenevia Pinder, and a cousin Michael Blake.

Those left to cherish fond and loving memories of “Baby Girl” include her parents, Elvis M. Sharpe and Cassandra M. Pinder; her significant other Keith Terrall Hill and his son Wyatt whom she lovingly called her “baby boy”; a brother Brandon Singh; a sister Michelle; grandmother, Alberta Pinder; aunts Evonne Pinder and Monica Pinder; uncle Tindley Pinder; special cousins Rayfield Pinkney III, Jamel Pinder, Michael Pinder, and Tracy Pinder; as well a host of other cousins and friends.

Toya “Fought a Good Fight” and Finished her Course” course while never complaining or letting on that she was as sick as she was.

Special thanks to her caregivers Deanna, Lisa, Renita, Sharon and Kyria; and Special thanks to her friend and hair stylist Lisa Miller.
