Cambridge, Maryland
LARON KEITH ANDERSON was born on December 14, 1966, in Cambridge, Maryland. LaRon was the beloved son of Faye Allsup and the late Carl Lee Wheatley. LaRon Keith Anderson departed this life on September 14, 2026, at Tidal Health Atlantic Hospital in Berlin, Md., with his mother by his side.
LaRon was a proud graduate of Cambridge-South Dorchester High School, Class of 1984. Although he spent his junior year at Cambridge-North Dorchester High School, he was especially happy to graduate from Cambridge-South Dorchester with the classmates and friends he had grown up with. His years in school helped shape the friendships and community connections that remained important to him throughout his life.
LaRon proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1985 to 1992, receiving an honorable discharge. He served as a Petroleum Supply Specialist and was recognized for his leadership, training, and dedication to his duties. During his military service, he was stationed in Germany and served in Afghanistan during Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm. While serving in the military, LaRon also worked toward earning his associate's degree. Following his active-duty service, he continued his military commitment by reenlisting in the U.S. Army Reserve in 1993.
After his military service, LaRon continued to work hard. He drove tractor-trailer trucks with a CDL-A, and worked for Pep Up for many years. He later worked at the Hyatt and finally at TreeHouse Foods as a forklift driver. His military training and experience served him well throughout his working life.
LaRon was a family-oriented person who cherished his time with the people he loved. He shared an especially close bond with his mother, Faye. LaRon and his mother were extremely close, and their relationship was one of deep love, friendship, and devotion. He was a devoted son who brought his mother tremendous love and pride. Their bond was a special part of both of their lives and will remain one of the most treasured memories of those who knew them.
LaRon was known for his beautiful, infectious smile that lit up every room. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and had a genuine love for sports. Although he enjoyed all sports, he was a loyal and enthusiastic Washington Commanders football fan. Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday, seamlessly bringing together football, food, and family. Though LaRon and his brother, Ralph, were 16 years apart, they were like two peas in a pod—competing fiercely, sharing a love for sports, and always supporting one another. LaRon was a remarkably proud big brother to Ralph and brought that same devotion to his niece, Bella, beaming from ear to ear whenever she was near.
LaRon cherished the special relationships he had with his family and friends. He leaves behind his mother, Faye Allsup; his loving stepfather, Richards Allsup, who became an important part of his life in 1992 and shared many special moments with him; his step-mother, Cassandra Wheatley, his Godmother Pandoria King, his siblings; Ralph Dockins, Jr. (La’Kreesha), Casey Wheatley, and stepbrother Calvin (Tish); his Godbrother Linton King III, and his beloved cousin LaDonna Young, who grew up more like a sister; his Godchildren, La’Keia Wilkins and Aaliyah Williams; his nieces Bella Faye Dockins, Samara Wheatley and Deaundra Stuart; nephew Kavon Stuart and his Uncle George and Aunt Olivia Anderson, who helped care for LaRon at an early age and hosts of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Lee Wheatley; his grandparents, Ella Pearl Anderson, Alfred Parker, William H. Wheatley, and Frances Williams; and other beloved family members.
LaRon leaves behind a legacy of love, service, family, and laughter. His smile brought light to those around him, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Although LaRon is no longer with us in person, the light he brought into every room—and especially the light he brought into his mother's and his family's life—will never be forgotten.
For his mother, there will always be an empty place that no one else can fill—the place belonging to her son, LaRon. But there will also be a lifetime of memories: his smile, his voice, his laughter, the conversations they shared, and the countless moments that only a mother and son could understand. The love they shared did not begin with his birth, and it does not end with his passing. It is a love that will continue to live in her heart forever.
Rest peacefully, LaRon. Your service is complete, your work is done, and your beautiful smile will live on in all of us.
