La'Sonya Keene Obituary (1979

La'Sonya Shelton Lynch Keene was born March 9, 1979 to Vivian O. Lynch and the late Larry Shelton Lynch. She departed this life at Anne Arundel medical Center on Friday, November 11, 2011(the date of what would have been her parent's 33rd wedding anniversary) to rest in the arms of her heavenly Father after a lengthy illness. La'Sonya , affectionately known as Sonya to most and Sonnie to others received her formal education in the Queen Anne's County public school system, receiving her high school diploma in June of 1997. Years later, she decided to further her education by enrolling in the Criminal Justice program at Sojourner-Douglass College located in Edgewater, MD. She always inspired to have a career as a Correctional officer, however, those who knew her best knew that with her quick responses to any situation deemed it only appropriate that she should have been a Lawyer. Sonya began her Christian journey as a member of Faith Unity Fellowship under the leadership of Bishop Robert M. Pritchett. In August of 2006, she joined Abundant Life Restoration Center where Pastor Anthony Reed and his wife, First Lady Kia ministered to Sonya on many occasions. Missing her father who she loved dearly and longing to see him again, Sonya rededicated her life to Christ. Sonya was full of life. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and wearing the many unique hair styles created by her stylist of many years, Karlessa Beach. Along with keeping her hair done, Sonya enjoyed manicures and pedicures with fancy designs; time shared with her daughter, SanA�A� and topping the look off with a lengthy set of eye lashes. Even when she was in her hospital bed, Sonya managed to maintain her "look". Surprisingly, Sonya enjoyed cooking for her family and when she cooked she had to serve you, which was expressive of the caring person she was. Cooking was a hobby, but eating was her favorite past-time. Sonya leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of two years, Artez Keene; her loving mother, Vivian Lynch(Grasonville, MD); two beautiful children, Amon Jazz Malik Stouers and SanA�A� J'Quiera Beck(Grasonville, MD); father and mother-in-law James and Sharon Keene(Grasonville, MD); grandmother Josephine Lynch(Centreville, MD); godmother, Marlene Griffin(Grasonville, MD); brother, Marcus Brown(Chestertown, MD); five sisters and four brother-in laws, Donya and Melvin(Centreville, MD), Leslie(Dover, DE), Sharonetta and Louis Sr.(Smyrna, DE), Rayshelle and Michael(Grasonville, MD), Makeresa and David(Salisbury, MD); god-sister, Deondra(Grasonville, MD); god-brothers, Eric(Japan) and Aaron(Grasonville, MD); seven uncles, Oliver(Doris), James(Phyllis), Charles(Deborah)( all of Grasonville, MD), David(Mirielle) Brown (Fort Washington, MD), James III(Catherine)(Cambridge, MD),Darnell Lynch( Pondtown, MD) and Richard Keen(Carmichael, MD); aunts, Mary and Doris Brown and JoAnne Lynch; step-daughters, Artasia and Artese Keene; god-children, Shyann Allen and Naseem Taylor; thirteen nieces and nephews; one great nephew, one great niece(due in December), a host of great uncles and great aunts as well as a host of cousins and friends. Services will be Sat. 11am at Robinson AME Church Grasonville with a viewing Fri. 7-8pm at the church. Interment in Bryan's UM Church Cemetery Grasonville.
