Kenneth Chantone Manokey, 63, affectionately known as “Preacher Man” and “Hot Wheels'', and one of the official known members of the Dunns Court Wrecking Crew passed away on July 28, 2023, at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Cambridge, Maryland. He was born on September 9, 1959 in Cambridge, Maryland, and was the most vibrant and expressive of six sons of the late Calvin and Valerie Manokey.
Kenneth attended Dorchester County Public Schools with the class of 1977. After high school he worked various jobs including the City of Cambridge, with his most recent employment being the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge. We all know he didn't mind finding a hustle either. He was a man of many talents.
Kenneth loved his family. He loved to attend family events. He and his brother Calvin (Cowboy) had a love and fuss relationship that no one could intervene in. He loved to brag on his children and their accomplishments. He also loved to tell stories about his grandchildren and often bragged about them as well. He surely could drive a car until it had no more life, but if you needed a ride he was definitely the man to call. He was dedicated to the well being of his father and mother, and always willing to help anyone who reached out to him. Dunns Court was his stomping grounds, and majority of the time that's exactly where you would find him. Kenneth loved to 'dance and holler' at any family event with his own special dances. He also enjoyed fishing and simply just enjoying life and having a good time .
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Kenneth Manokey Jr., and Ky'rie Manokey; five daughters, Kenisha (Christopher) Davis, Ka'quina (Roderick) Thomas, Keyandra Brisco, Kendraya Brisco, and Kalynda Manokey; a god son Dontae Gibbs; three brothers, Lenot and Bruce Manokey both of Cambridge, MD, and Larry (Valerie) Manokey of Concord, DE; two sisters, Monica Wheatly of Pasadena, MD, and Kimberly Jackson of Glen Burnie, MD; aunts, Barbara Stanley, Betty Ross, and Marion Macbeth; an aunt that was more like a sister, Peggy Ross; a sister-in-law Alesia Manokey; grandchildren Armani Macer, Za'niya Washington, Da'marion Sampson, Da'myra Sampson, Kimora Manokey, Cazmire Davis, Christiana Davis, Kylie Manokey, Kaydence Manokey, Roderick Thomas, and Ryan Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, family and special friends.
