John Robert Kellum, Jr, (Johnnie), 76, of Easton, Maryland departed this life on November 2, 2023 at his home in Cordova, Maryland.\n\nJohn, the son of the late John Robert Kellum, Sr and Sarah Blanche Kellum was born on March 31, 1947. He received his education in the public schools of Talbot County and graduated from the historical Moton High School in 1966. John started his work career as a busboy at the Tidewater Inn as a teenager. He was eventually promoted to the position of head waiter at the Tidewater Inn. While working at the Tidewater Inn, John achieved employment with the Superfresh grocery store chain as a stocker. He worked both positions (head waiter/stocker) for approximately 20 years, at which time he left the head waiter position and worked only as a stocker. After being promoted to manager of the night crew and working for several years, he retired in 2014 after 48 years.\n\nOn September 5, 1970 he married Gloria Jean Miller from St. Michaels, Maryland and from this union, one son was born. He was a great family man who loved to spend time with family, friends and liked to have fun. His hobbies were collecting antique model cars and watching old western movies. He was the glue between his siblings and helped them whenever it was asked of him.\n\nHe is preceded in death by his father, his mother, his stepmother, Alphonso Kellum and his son, Robert Andre Kellum.\n\nHe is survived by his wife Gloria of 53 years, three brothers, Paul (Earlene) Kellum of Joppa, MD; Arthur (Clarretta) Kellum of Cordova, MD; David (Magda) Kellum of Cordova, MD; two sisters, Sha’ron Kellum of Cambridge, MD and Angela Kellum of Arlington, TX, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.\n\nWe will miss Johnnie’s wisdom, laughter, jokes and joy.
