Jermaine La'Fel Miles

–

Grasonville, Maryland

My son, Jermaine Lafel Miles (Brown), affectionately known as "Mick Jag" to many, gained his heavenly wings on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Jermaine was born in Easton, MD on March 27, 1975 to the late James Elmer Brown Sr. and Leola Cook. Jermaine received his education through the Queen Anne's County Public School system.

As a youth, Jermaine always expressed a strong desire to join the military, which was inspired by his big cousin Kevin Brown, whom he looked up to. Although he never achieved that endeavor, he still possessed a heart of servitude. Eventually, still very young, Jermaine found a passion in gas engines. The first engine he fell in love with was attached to a chainsaw. It was something about the smell of gas and the revving of the engine that peaked his interest. From there he moved on quickly to dirt bikes and motorcycles and the rest was history. Jermaine became well known as one of the best to ever mount the Iron Horse. Unknowingly to some, Jermaine also had an extreme love for fishing, hunting, and cutting wood which he loved to brag that he acquired these skills from his late Pop-Pop Ray, starting as young as the age of 10 as a mate! As Jermaine grew older, he added weight lifting to his list of amazing qualities. All it took was one compliment and he was determined to be an expert in the weight room, and that he was! Lastly but not least, Jermaine's love for fashion and streetwear was second to none. Unapologetically, from the top of his head to the soles of his feet, he always made a statement upon entrance. No one could out swag "Jag"!

Over the years, Jermaine has worked on the water, in the landscaping industry and his all time favorite,as a sous chef in various restaurants.

Jermaine was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Dorothy and Louis Brown Sr., his maternal grandparents Beulah and Henry Perry, his father James Brown Sr., and his brother Wade Brown. Additionally, his aunts Marion Cook, Letitia Cook, Helen Holmes, Cora Tilghman, Edna Mae Murray and Rosa Lee Patterson. His uncles Leon Cook, Florence Brown Palmore, Andy Gibbs, Otis Ryan Sr. and Louis "Sonny" Brown Jr.

Jermaine leaves to cherish his mother Leola Cook of Grasonville, Md. His daughters Jaira Miles of Easton, MD and Shai Miles of Philadelphia, PA. His bonus son Traee Lee, Jr. of Grasonville, MD and godson Carlos Austin, Jr.. Two grandchildren, Kross and Sayuri. His #1 companion, a man's best friend "Rocco". Brothers Aaron Miles (Natalia), Donta Miles, Andre Cook, Terrance Laws (Maria), James Brown, Jr. "Lil Bud" (Pauline), Tyrell Brown (TaAsia). Sisters Kaneka Scott, Stephanie Johnson (Julian) and Tasha Brown. A special friend he held close to his heart, Monica Whyte, he fondly called "LoveBug". Along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
