Harold Sylvester Johnson Jr. best known as “Poppy” was born in Easton, Maryland. Raised in Stevensville Maryland on “Lots Road”. He was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on November 23, 2022, passing in the comfort of his mother’s home in Cambridge, Maryland.\n\n“Poppy” Harold Johnson Jr. was born on July 17, 1981, to his loving parents Harold Johnson Sr. and Shaney Spence. Poppy attended Queen Annes County public schools which he later obtained his G.E.D over the years while also working various jobs, he was a hands-on type of guy.\n\nGrowing up Poppy attended Ezion Methodist Church in Batts Neck, his family church. Over the years he wasn’t a member of any church but would have church on any given day with his mom in her home. He knew and loved the Lord.\n\nOutside of the love he has for his family and friends, his first love was basketball. He was a phenomenal basketball player who could’ve gone pro. He was a “Beast” on the court. Some of his best memories were while he was on the court.\n\nPoppy is preceded in death by his great grandparents Albert and Martina Turner, grandmother Sylvia Brown, Grandfather Carey Leroy Spence Jr., Grandfather Howard Samuel Johnson Sr., and stepfather Tracy Felton.\n\nHe leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Shaney Felton; his father Harold Johnson Sr. (Catherine); his grandmother Mary Spence; his only child, his son Dashawn Johnson; his oldest sister and twin Natasha Johnson; his only favorite nephews Malik Lewis and Antoine Adkins Jr. (AJ); His younger siblings, Te’Erra Johnson, Deseree Dixon (Morgan), Erin Batz, Terrell Kopping, Dominique Johnson. A very special aunt/ godmother Shirley Thomas. A first cousin more like a Brother Bruce Boardley Jr. (BJ) A very special cousin and best friend Latia Corsey, a longtime friend and brother Jemale Johnson. His two adopted daughters, Kolby Lewis and Nekyah Matthews.
