Gloria Dean Edwards

Gloria Dean Edwards, 71, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Mallard Bay in Cambridge MD.

She was born on June 28, 1954 in Cambridge, MD to the late Warren and Ornie Edwards. Deanie, as she was affectionately known, graduated from Cambridge High School in 1972. After graduation she worked at Rob Roy, Maryland Plastics, and as a CNA at Genesis and Delmarva Community Services.

Gloria found enjoyment in spending time with her family, fishing, sitting at the water’s edge of Great Marsh and Long Wharf, helping others, and online shopping. She loved listening to old school R&B, and Smooth Jazz. She also found pleasure in doing what she could to brighten the days of others, and cooking for friends at Conifer Village.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Warren and Ornie Edwards, two sisters Yolanda and Joyce Edwards, and brother Lloyd “Grease” Edwards.

She is survived by her daughter Nakia Edwards of Greensboro; three brothers, Melvin Edwards (Rosa) of Orlando, Warren A. Edwards (Delores) of Baltimore, and Maarufu Aulu (Barbara) of Orlando; a sister Yvonne “RaMentka” Edwards of Tampa; two aunts Ernestine Edwards of Williston, and Charlotte Lawrence of Ocala; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will deeply miss her; and Ranchell Smith, who was like a daughter to her, and whose love and companionship brought immense joy to her life.
