Gary "Mitch" Flynn Obituary (1960 - 2023)

Gary Mitchell Flynn “Mitch” 62, of Preston, Maryland, passed away June 7th, 2023, out on the boat doing what he loved. Gary was born on September 8th, 1960, to James and Anita Flynn. After Gary graduated from Gwynn Park High School in 1978, he went to work for PG County Government, where he began his career in HVAC. After some time, he started his own business, Berkshire HVAC. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, James and Anita Flynn, his brother Tommy Flynn, and sister Cathy Gass. Gary is survived by his wife, Darlene Denise Flynn "Darla", daughter Jamie Flynn Lukens (wife Samantha Lukens), son Patrick Flynn, Justin Pryor (Brandy McIntosh), Ryan Pryor, sister Kelly Hokanson (PJ Puschert), grandchildren Hannah Dupuis, Zoey Pryor, Paisley Hanson, nieces and nephews Ryan Hokanson, Krista Hokanson, Luke Puschert, great niece Arianna Bennett and pets Sadie & Penny. Gary was fun-loving and lived his life to the fullest on his terms. He had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Gary was generous, loyal, and brave. He was cleverly filled with knowledge that was gained through all of his life experiences. Gary is referred to as “someone who would give you the shirt off of his back.” Gary & Darla were devout members of the motorcycle club, The Keepers. Regularly, the two of them played intense games of rummy. Gary was a professional Bud Ice drinker and recently a Miller Lite connoisseur. Gary was passionate about politics, and there wasn’t a day that went by he didn’t get his daily dose. Gary was a fantastic cook and enjoyed grilling as much as possible. His favorite thing to do was gather his family and friends for a crab feast with abundant smiles, loud chatter, and many laughs. Gary was so easygoing. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. He will be missed dearly. A celebration of life will be held at the family property, June 17th 2023 at 6400 Herrington Lane, Preston, MD. 21655 at 2 pm.
